I Increased My Instagram Reach By 460% Using Engagement Strategies

There’s one key element of social media we keep forgetting… it’s supposed to be SOCIAL. We can’t keep blaming the algorithm if we’re not trying to understand it. With apps like Tik Tok on the rise, we’ve started to put more focus on creating viral content. In my experience, that isn’t nearly as effective as using Instagram for its designed purpose, to connect with people!

I found that I was able to increase my Instagram reach by over 450% when I started thinking about the app differently. Instagram shows us the things they think we want to see most. That means that when we comment or message someone regularly on the app, we’re more likely to see their content than that of someone we rarely interact with.

It appears that the same can happen in reverse. When you’re regularly commenting on someone’s feed and replying to their stories, Instagram is more likely to take notice. Essentially, If person A is regularly interacting with person B’s content, Instagram goes “hmm, person A and person B seem to have similar interests. Let’s see if Person B likes Person A’s content too!”

This means that by interacting more with the users who share similar interests as you, you’re telling Instagram to show them your content too. It’s been working for me, and I hope it will work for you too. Now get out there and spend reel time (yes, pun intended) connecting with your community.
